The Invention of Hugo Cabret by Brian Selznick

The Invention of Hugo Cabret is about a boy whose father died because of a fire and now he's living in the walls of a subway fixing clocks.  He then discovers a robot his father never finished and takes it upon himself to finish it.  The last part that he needs is a key that he gets from his friend Isabelle who he meets in the subway.  His father also happened to be a famous filmmaker who was inspired by an old man who sold toys who was Isabelle's grandfather.  At the end of the book Isabelle and her grandparents take Hugo in as their own.  3 Stars  - Reviewed by Emma
