The Black Book of Secrets by F.E. Higgins

This is a book about a boy named Ludllow Fitch, who was born in the City, a place full of bad people.  He runs away to the town of Pagus Parvos.  He meets Joe a pawnbroker and works for him.  Almost every night at midnight Joe has someone "pawn" their secret for money.  Later a mean Jeremiah Ratchet gets greedy and tries to steal the book, but accidentally poisons himself...does he live or does he die?  Find out when you read The Black Book of Secrets.
