The Selection by Kiera Cass

Set in the future in Illaea, which is post apocalyptic America, the Selection is about how sixteen year old America lives through the "selection".  The "selection" is when the royal family must find a wife for the future king.  One girl from each providence is chosen for the chance to be queen. This book will pull you in and you won't let you stop reading till the end!

I Hunt Killers by Barry Lyga

Jasper Dent's father was a serial killer and locked up for it.  Now the killings are starting up again and Jasper is blamed.  He now has to find the killer before he's the next victim.  This book is fast paced and kept me reading!

2013 Battle of the Books!

If you like to read and are entering grades 6-9 in Sept., consider joining Harborfields Public Library’s team for the annual Suffolk County Battle of the Books.  Read the selected eight titles, come to our weekly meetings, and you could be one of the players to represent Harborfields Public Library in the county competition.  This year’s county competition will be held on Saturday June 10^th and final round on Monday June 12^th.   The titles for this year were announced on June 1^st.  Our next meeting is Wednesday, June 19^th @ 7:00 PM.  Come join us!
