Join representatives from the Huntington Youth Bureau’s Project Excel as they discuss summer youth employment, internships, career exploration workshops, job referral and placement.

Just Announced! The 2011 Teen 3 Apples Book Award

The 2011 Three Apples Teen Book Award, a New York State Teen's Choice Award, goes to . . .

Each year teens in grades 7-12 (ages 13+) nominate their favorite book, creating a statewide ballot of fifteen of the most popular titles. After reading or listening to at least three of the nominated books, the teens vote to select one as their favorite. That book and its author are honored with the presentation of the Teen 3 Apples Book Award, and celebrations take place across the state in school and public libraries.

The Teen Advisory Board would like to welcome you to meet local Young Adult author Gae Polisner as she celebrates the release of her new book The Pull of Gravity. The Friends of the Library will have copies of her book available for sale and signing.

Relaxing Rediscoveries: Mother-Daughter Meditation

Tuesday, May 10th from 7 - 8 PM
Open to students in grades 6 - 12 and their moms

Life is stressful...but it doesn’t have to be! This month, take the time to celebrate and enhance the mother-daughter bond with two simple meditations to be practiced anytime. This class will be led by Dawn Jackson, a teacher from Dipamkara Meditation Center in Huntington.
