Harborfields High School Fine Arts Reception

Monday, April 26th at 7:oopm

The Harborfields Public Library is proud to have a selection of wonderful artwork and photographs on display in the Gallery during the month of April. The exhibit showcases the talented artists and photographers from Harborfields High School. Please stop in anytime and browse the beautiful art and a special reception to honor the participants will be held on Monday, April 26th at 7pm at the Harborfields Public Library. All parents, teachers, students and members of the community are cordially invited to attend.

Teens Connect During National Library Week

The Teens Connect program allows teens to earn community service hours for their participation. Join us to make seasonal crafts and a surprise treat that will be donated to children and senior citizens within our community. This month, Teens Connect takes place during National Library Week and this year's theme is Communities Thrive @ Your Library, so it is a perfect time to give back to your community and join Teens Connect. April Fools Fun Food Program


Wednesday, April 7th from 7:00-8:15pm


Imagine hamburgers, pizza and other various foods being created with candy, ice cream and marshmallows. Students are invited to create various crazy and tasty creations that are sure to fool you and your friends. Please call the Reference Desk to register.

Freshman Finances 101


Monday, April 19th at 7pm

Parents and high school students are invited to attend this program together or separately. Linda Furey from SafeGuard Credit Counseling Services will discuss the importance of budgeting your money wisely as you may be preparing for college. Credit cards, debit cards and the importance of good credit will also be discussed. Please call the Reference Desk to register.

Teen Literary Committee Meeting

Please join us as we share new books, authors, ideas for displays, volunteer programs and much more. We will also finalize some ideas for the upcoming Summer Reading Club. No registration is required so please bring a friend and come to this TLC meeting!

Jellybean Guess


Stop by Mr. Cooper's desk in Young Adult Central and take a guess on how many jellybeans are in the jar. The winner will be announced on Thursday, April 22nd, which happens to be National Jellybean Day! A surprise gift card will be given to the winner.

Age of Empires III Tournament


Friday, April 23rd from 7:00-8:30pm


Join us in Young Adult Central for a gaming tournament night playing Age of Empires III. Players are challenged to build tribes into great civilizations and attempt to accumulaten wealth, dominate the world and conquer the enemy. Do you think you have what it takes to rule the world? Please call the Reference Desk to register and you may sign up as a single player, or in teams of two. Gift cards to Game Stop will be given to the winners!

"New Moon" and Pizza Day

Join us for this fun day as we watch the movie New Moon, which is based on the second book in the world-popular Twilight series by Stephenie Meyer. Pizza will be served and a little New Moon trivia will be held as winners will receive all types of New Moon related prizes. Registration is required. Please call the Reference Desk to register. Cake Mania


Monday, March 8th from 7:00-8:15pm


Join Mr. Cooper for a night of cake and fun! Students will play some cake and food related games and win prizes, all while decorating their very own theme cake to take home with them. Please call the Reference Desk to register.

We will also form committees to help with displays, book reviews, our teen Website and more. New members are always welcome so invite a friend to come along! No registration is required.

March Madness Book Bonanza

During the month of March, stop by each week and vote on your favorite book in our March Madness Tournament. Young adult books will be paired against each other and the winner will advance on to the next bracket in the tournament. It is up to you and your votes to help your favorite books advance to the next round, until we award the champion at the end of the month. Once per day, you may vote for your favorite book and also enter a raffle to win gift cards to several Greenlawn hot spots such as Dunkin Donuts, Game Stop, Jimmy’s Pizza and Broadway Pizza and others.

Teen Tech Week


March 7th-13th


Teen Tech Week is a national program sponsored by the Young Adult Library Services Association. The 2010 theme is "Learn, Create, Share" which hopes to encourage teen’s creative and safe exploration of technology available in libraries, including DVDs, music, gaming, online homework help, social networking, audiobooks and more. Throughout the week, you are invited to stop in to Young Adult Central and fill out a recommendation form and suggest new games for our X-BOX 360, new DVDs, and teen Audiobooks. Also, during this week ask Young Adult Librarian Mr. Cooper about the online Homework Help site that is available to you and you will be entered into a surprise raffle.

Go Green on March 17th



On Wednesday, March 17th, visit our YA blog and post your ideas on how you can help our world go "green." Posting your "go green" idea will make you eligible to win a mystery prize. Become more informed, and remember to Go Green on March 17th.
