Percy Jackson and the Olympians: The Lightning Thief Movie



Saturday, February 20th from 10:00am-12:00pm

Meet at the Elwood Cinemas movie theater at 9:45 AM


Are you a fan of Rick Riordan’s Percy Jackson and the Olympians series? If so, we would like to invite all students in grades 6 -12 to be our guest for a private screening of the new movie, The Lightning Thief at the Elwood Cinemas. Everyone who registers will receive a free movie ticket, a voucher for a small popcorn and small soda, and a raffle ticket for a few special give-aways! Parental permission forms must be signed and returned to Mr. Cooper before February 20th. All students must be dropped off at the movie theater by 9:45 AM and picked up by a parent or guardian by 12 noon. Mr. Cooper looks forward to spending this magical mythical morning with you! S'mores and Edible Snowmen Candy Board



Friday, February 12th from 7 - 8:15 PM


In this tasty workshop, students will create edible snowmen with marshmallows, graham crackers, chocolates, and then build an edible candy board town using an assortment of candies and chocolates. A great treat for Valentines Day! Please call the Reference Desk to register.

National Tortilla Chip Day Contest



Wednesday February 24th


Doritos, Fritos, Tostitos! Stop by Mr. Cooper’s desk, on February 24th in Young Adult Central, to fill out a brief survey and vote for your favorite corn chip. Everyone participating will be entered into a raffle to win a surprise gift card.

Age of Empires 3 Tournament


Friday, February 26th from 7:00-8:30pm



Join us in Young Adult Central for a night of playing Age of Empires III. This epic real-time strategy game spans 10,000 years. Players are challenged to build tribes into great civilizations and attempt to accumulate wealth, dominate the world and conquer the enemy. Do you think you have what it takes to rule the world? Saturday Book Bingo


Saturday, February 27th from 11am-12:15pm


All students are welcome to join Mr. Cooper for an hour of Book Bingo. Special prizes will be given to each Bingo winner. As a tribute to Valentines Day, Mr. Cooper will reveal his top ten young adult authors and books that he "loves".
